At the upcoming Wiscon on Memorial Day weekend, Karen will draw from more than a decade of experience in guided meditation instruction to lead an interactive meditative workshop titled Accessing Creative Self at one of the cons living rooms. This will be fun and easy meditation that will help open doors to enrich writing and stimulate the muse. Participants will learn techniques that will help to relax and connect to ones personal truth, thereby allowing more frequent and easier access to the imagination & muse to intensify the depth of writing and keep the words flowing. Questions are welcome. Comfortable clothes are suggested.
January 2001
Further Confusion to be held January 2528 at the San Mateo Marriott. The con is dedicated to animals and anthropomorphic characters. Karen is scheduled to appear on two panels. First is Why is Your Character Furry? with Mel White. This panel will deal with the possible reasons for having furred characters. Karen will also participate in What More Animal Characteristics (Than the Normal Human Exhibits) Does Your Character Exhibit? with Gene Breshears and Mel White. The second panel will deal with aspects of animals already seen in humans and how they could be enhanced, repressed, or mutated.

Live Appearance: Karen was at the San Diego Regional International Womens Writing Guild meeting on September 8. She talked about her novel, Dancing Suns, and signed copies.

WorldCon: Karen was forced to cancel her WorldCon appearance. Her wormhole collapsed, stranding her at the star Ross 128, 10.9 light-years from Earth, and tech support says it'll be twelve months until they can repair it.
