I, Fester Zingenbachpitooey, roving reporter for the Galactic Sun Dial Times, tracked Karen down planetside, on Earth. Join me as I speak with her once again.
FZ. We last spoke about a year ago. K. Sounds about right. FZ. I'm anxious to hear what's new, what's two. K. My screenplay is new, the boys are two. FZ. For those who have never seen a picture of Ms. Daniels, here's one exported to you the reader with our special digital tri-imaging Galactic Sun Dial Times mega-picture sender — hold on — here it is:
Cameraman who’s watching monitor. Ah, Fester, there’s a problem here… Again. FZ. Oh, for the love of moonrocks. That is professor Hinegoober from Mars Outback 9 —. Again. (Presses knobs, scowls, then flips a lever. Whirring sound. *Burp.*) Okay, okay. Here we go:
Why does professor Hinegoober's picture always come up in relation to you, I wonder? K. I probably dated him once. FZ. A native Earthean dating an outbackian Martian? Could be quite a story there. K. I'll have to write that down. FZ. Okay, spill the Venetian worms. What's new since we last spoke? K. My daughter is 4, my twin boys are 2, and I'm 50. FZ. Kind of... K. Yup, I'm old to have kids this age. But my husband is even older. FZ. Noted. You're still writing? K. Always. As much and as often as I can. FZ And you're working on? K. My freelance copywriting business, always looking for work in that arena. The screenplay I just finished, Bigger Than Dreams, is about a 49 year-old woman who quits her life to pursue dreams of adventure - then finds out she is pregnant. And no, not autobiographical. I live many of my adventures prior to kids. That's the advantage of being an older parent. I've just started a new screenplay and I'm also working on my masters in Educational Psychology in gifted education. That's for fun. FZ. Sounds fun. K. I like learning. FZ. You might be interested in the Quatrosyn Symphonic presentation I'm going to shortly. K. We'll talk. FZ. All righty. Anything else new under the sun? K. I'm noodling around with a series of children's books for gifted children, and a television pilot. FZ. Any parts in them for me? K. Always looking for a good roving galactic reporter type. FZ. Co-ol. Any new novels on the forefront? K. A few are started but I'm not focused on them right now. FZ. I'll remind the readers that Karen does have the 3 published novels, The Zaddack Tales already out there. And let me add my personal note, zaddacks are dandy creatures. Fascinating stories. K. Thanks for the plug, Fester. FZ. At this point in an interview I like to ask a trivia question. Tell us something we don't know about you. For instance, what do you collect? K. Husbands. FZ. Most interesting. Do you have a large collection? K. 3 so far. FZ. More on the way? How many can your mantle hold? K.(laughs) Well, I wouldn't want to be definitive about that. FZ. Gottcha. K. Anything else you'd like to know? FZ. What does the future hold for Ms. Karen Daniels? K. Enjoying my children develop into the glorious creatures they are, seeing my freelance business grow and getting my screenplay out there, getting a literary agent, maybe a Saturn Gig award. FZ. Miss Daniels, thank you so much for talking with us. Any last words for our readers? K. Well, Fester don't step on rubber toads. FZ. Excellent advice. This is Fester Zingenbachpitooey, roving reporter for the Galactic Sun Dial Times saying, good news, no rubber toads, good bye.
